The School of Science and Technology at JCU Singapore offers both under- and postgraduate degrees in Business. Please visit or for more information. Due to the continuing success of the IT programs and the increasing demand for graduates in this field, we are now seeking suitable candidates for the position of Sessional Lecturer/tutor (Part-time teaching staff) for the following disciplines:

  • Information Technology (HW and SW)
  • Computer, web, and mobile programming (e.g. Python, Java)
  • Game development, Animation, and 3D Modelling
  • Data Science
  • Machine Learning
  • IoT / Electronics
  • Network Forensics and Cybersecurity


The appointees will be experienced academic / faculty members and will be responsible for teaching and supervision in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in IT and Science.  Applications are invited from candidates with a masters (postgraduate) qualification with a focus in IT or related discipline. A relevant degree plus industry experience may suffice for lecturing at undergraduate level. Membership of professional bodies and associations will be an added advantage.


  • A leadership role in curriculum development and teaching.
  • Course coordination.
  • Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects.
  • Supervision of the program of study for honours and postgraduate students engaged in course work.
  • Research, including, where appropriate, leadership of a large research team.
  • Significant contribution to the profession, and/or discipline.


Selection Criteria:

  • A Master in relevant discipline.
  • A substantial publication record relative to career stage.
  • Evidence of quality teaching and supervision of students at under- and postgraduate levels.
  • The ability to teach across a range of subjects at various levels.
  • Evidence of academic leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relations with colleagues in an academic environment and with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
