James Cook University Singapore’s School of Social and Health Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the areas of psychology, arts, education, and guidance and counselling. The University also offers Higher Degree by Research programs such as Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy.
The School is seeking to appoint a Sessional Lecturer in the area of guidance and counselling to make significant contributions to teaching and all activities of the organisational unit and play a significant role within the discipline. The appointee will teach into the Master of Guidance and Counselling program.

Responsibilities:
Teaching into the Master of Guidance and Counselling programme
To set and mark assessments
Provide timely formative and summative feedback to students
To secure subject coordinator approval of exams and participate in moderation
Work closely with the subject coordinator on all matters related to the subject
Participate in meetings and training sessions as appropriate
Significant contribution to the profession, and/or discipline.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential Criteria:
PhD or Master’s degree in Counselling
Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (or eligible)
Evidence of quality teaching and supervision of students at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
The ability to teach across a range of guidance and counselling subjects at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relations with colleagues in an academic environment and with people from diverse backgrounds
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in curriculum development, management, and quality assurance
Registered Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (or eligible)
