Sessional/Part-time Lecturer Diploma of Higher Education (Pathways School)

The appointee will be an experienced academic member and will be responsible for teaching and supervision of courses within the Pathways School, with a particular focus on Developing Academic/Literacy Skills at all levels.  Applications are invited from candidates in any area of research and practice with a focus on English or Education.

 

Applicants for sessional roles must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents

 

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum preparation, teaching, and assessment
  • Provide timely formative and summative feedback to students
  • Provide student consultation on coursework matters
  • Ensuring all operations accord with established JCU procedures, policies and established practices
  • Other duties as determined from time to time by JCU Singapore management

 

Key selection criteria

  • A degree plus recognized TESOL qualification (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, MA Applied Linguistics etc)

OR a degree, plus teaching qualification including TESOL

OR a degree in education or teaching including TESOL

  • Evidence of quality teaching and supervision of students
  • The ability to teach Academic English / Academic Literacy skills at various levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Agile with digital learning platforms and technologies
